Dr. Akhavan is a board certified dermatologist with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers, including the use of Digital Mole Analysis to aid in the evaluation and tracking of moles (nevi). In addition, Dr. Akhavan is experienced in the medical and surgical management of a variety of dermatological conditions including: acne, eczema and allergic reactions, psoriasis, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, actinic keratoses, bacterial and fungal infections, hair loss, nail disease, disease of the oral and genital mucosa, herpes, genital warts, disease of skin pigment, spider veins, removal of dysplastic nevi (atypical moles) and skin cancers, and removal of lesions for cosmetic purposes.
